Good News Clubs
Good News Club provides children with the opportunity to hear the Gospel clearly presented and to learn how to grow in their relationship with God on weekly basis.
Our Materials
Each week an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from CEF Press® is presented. This action-packed time includes songs, Bible memory verses, mission stories, and review games. Each Club includes a clear presentation of the Gospel and an opportunity for children to trust the Lord Jesus as their Savior. Every club also includes strong discipleship training to build godly character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth. All children are encouraged to attend a local church.
Our Teachers
Our teachers are Christian teens and adults caring for boys and girls. They work together, volunteering their time and energy to teach Good News Club. CEF trains them and teachers are asked to sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the forms and policies of the organization. All adults working with the Good News Club program are screened according to our Child Protection Policy.
Exciting, fun-filled weekly club October through April for elementary kids in which the Bible is clearly taught with songs, stories, games. These fast-paced, one-hour Clubs are designed to bring the Gospel of Christ to children and their friends on their level in their environment.
This year we plan to have 28 Clubs across the state of South Dakota. Clubs meet where the children are - in public elementary schools*, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, or anywhere children can easily and safely meet with their parent's permission. As with all CEF® ministries, the purpose of the Good News Club® is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God, and establish them in a local church for Christian Living.
Connect with a School
There are more than 460 public elementary schools in South Dakota. Currently, CEF is in 28 of them. We are calling all Bible-believing churches across the state to adopt their community school. Groups of individuals can also adopt a school. There is much work yet to be done to take the Gospel to every elementary school in South Dakota!
Make a Difference. Adopt a School with a Team.
* Good News Clubs can be held freely in the public schools. Over 4,000 public schools across the United States have Good News Clubs held in the schools. In 2001, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Club v. Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. Children attend Good News Club only with their parents' written permission.
